This project in the south-west Calgary community of Westmeadows was implemented in several phases. The owners are avid gardeners and wanted to use the generous pie shaped lot to incorporate a water feature, pergola, vegetable garden, and areas to relax or entertain.
Rundlestone was used extensively for the retaining and steps as well as for the water feature. The patios and walks are Cobblestone pavers. A cedar pergola with privacy screens was placed at the end of the garden as a focal point and destination in the garden and is a great place to oversee the rest of the landscape. The vegetable garden on the south side of the house is built into timber terraces and provides a good microclimate for growing a wide variety of edible plants.
